First of all thanks a lot for all those replies on my previous journal post. You guys rock.

I finally got to play with my Atari Flashback 2. You remember Channel Frederator sent it to me all across from NYC to Germany because of some lousy animation I did (I didn't get a chance to frame my awesome diploma yet). I had to buy a Volt converter that converts 220 Volt to 9 V because you know people use pussy volt in the USA- it's just not strong enough so I couldn't do much with the converter that already came with the Atari.

So what's it like playing all those games? In a nutshell its like an acid trip in pixels. But not one of those happy and jolly acid trips you know from TV. It's more one of those really weird "WTF is going on here- where does this sound come from and what are those weird colours" acid trip.
It's really strange and I'm hardly able to figure out what the hell I'm even supposed to do in those games. Mostly I'm just saying "WTF! WHAT THE FLYING FUCK!".
The NTSC/PAL TV I bought from an American friend sadly didn't have the white and yellow socket I needed- just white and red and sadly this console is just NTSC (We use PAL in Europe). Thank god newer TVs (and this one is only 3 weeks old) support NTSC so I was able to play the Atari on the new TV. I was pretty frustrated to see it wouldn't work on the NTSC TV but glad again I got it to work.

Overall I'm all for retro gaming but this is just too weird for me. The only fun game is Pong. It's a classic and will always remain one. It's also the only game that doesn’t make me go OMFG WTF AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?!
It's fun to play against each other and the best thing is when you two get stuck in a loop and the ball will just go back and forth and somebody HAS to give up because otherwise it would go on like this for ages- great

I also beat Gears of War for 360 this Saturday. I have to admit I prefer the PC version since it’s 20% longer. I’m REALLY looking forward to Gears of War 2.

Has anyone played GTA IV yet?
